Applications open for the 2022 Cartoon Studio Award


In an announcement posted on the Center for Cartoon Studies website, details of the nomination for the 2022 Cartoon Studio Award have been revealed.

As with the Cartoonist Studio 2021 award, The Beat is proud to be the media partner for this year’s awards, which will again feature two categories: one for the print comic of the year and one for the web comic of the year. ‘year. Each winner will receive a prize of $ 1000.

This will be Cartoonist Studio’s tenth annual award.

Applications for the 2022 Cartoon Studio Award are now open!

Submissions in both categories are now open. You can find the submission form for the printed comics here, and the submission form for webcomics here.

Eligible comics will have been written (or translated) into English and published or uploaded between January 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021. Those currently enrolled in CCS or who are professors are not eligible. Cartoonists can submit one entry in each of the two categories. In addition, the jury reserves the right to consider works that have not been officially submitted.

The publisher or creators can also submit a work for review by sending a physical copy of the book to CCS, along with a submission form (the mailing address can be found at the link above).

The winners will be selected by a jury made up of staff from the Schulz Library, CCS and The Beat. The finalists for the award will be announced in April 2022, and the winners will be announced shortly thereafter.
