Buffalo Arts Studio fundraiser will benefit the entire community

BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) — Triminia, a Buffalo Arts Studio fundraiser and party will continue as scheduled Saturday, but will also raise funds for communities affected by the mass shooting on Jefferson Avenue.

“We sincerely hope this event filled with art and music will shed some light and bring our neighborhood and the greater Buffalo community together during this incredibly difficult time,” organizers said.

In addition to raising funds that will expand access to the arts in Buffalo, all bar tips from the evening will be donated to FATHERS to support them in meeting the basic needs of the neighborhood. And they will be collecting donations for Black Love Resists in the Rust to advance their long-term community plan to support mental health.

“This is for the benefit of Buffalo Arts Studio, but we want to share the generosity of our community with those who are suffering greatly right now,” said Shirley Verrico, curator of Buffalo Arts Studio.

It’s a party happening at their open-air loading dock for Triminia. They’re closing Jewett Parkway between Main and Halbert so there’s dancing on the street.

Triminia begins with a VIP event at 6:00 p.m. and features live music from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. by Sandy Stimers and Billy Brandau, Farrow, Deadwolf, Demyia and DJ Dr Wisz.

There will also be plenty of engaging art, including live murals with Solo Roths, Julia Bottoms and Muhammad Zaman. Brooklyn-based street artist Taiitan Lopez creates an interactive street artist cardboard installation, MJ Meyers will paint live on canvas at various points during the event, and Ruby Soudant will create a site-specific video installation.
