Craig Bennett, Studio 10: veteran showbiz journalist selling a party carpet in Prahran

TV entertainment journalist Craig Bennett and his partner are selling their Balinese-inspired home that has hosted a long list of celebrities, from Logie winners to Neighbors’ legends.

Veteran showbiz journalist Craig Bennett and his partner Craig Murchie are selling their Prahran “party house” which has hosted a long list of celebrities.

Great scholars Judith Durham, Brynne Edelsten, TV legends Barbie Rogers, Tony Barber, Jimmy Hannan and Neighbors cast members Lorraine Bayly, Ian Smith and Anne Charleston are just a few of the famous faces who visited Residence 20 Ann St.

Bennett, who worked in the entertainment industry for 40 years and appears on Studio 10, said friends such as Denise Drysdale, Rowena Wallace and Mark Mitchell were other “regulars at the table.”

“A lot of celebrities have poured their souls out of me in the kitchen or in the living room,” Bennett said.

“If this house were to write a book, they would have plenty of stories to share.”

The couple sell the three-bedroom pillow under the hammer on October 30 with price hopes of $ 1.85-2.035 million as they move to Queensland for Mr Murchie’s job.

Bennett said it was a “wonderful party house inside and out,” which had also been used as a backdrop for his exclusive TV interviews and photo shoots in the pages of Woman’s Day and New Idea.

Wooden details, floor-to-ceiling windows, polished concrete floors, and a private ‘outdoor rock garden’ were highlights of the Bali-inspired pad.

Mark Harris of Marshall White said the property had a “very calming effect as soon as you walk through the gates” while still being so close to Chapel St.

“The buyers have asked whether or not the sculptures will remain in the sale, because there really is this wonderful feeling of serenity.”

The couple also auctioned their three-bedroom home in Northbridge, NSW at 43a Minnamurra Rd on October 23.
