DC and Palm NFT Studio Partners for Digital Superhero Collectibles

DC FanDome 2021 has added another feather to its cap, as entertainment giant DC teamed up with Palm NFT Studio to enter the world of blockchain technology with its first NFT collection on October 5.

Using Palm technology, NFTs (Non-Fungible Token) highlight DC’s story, the breadth of the characters, and the diversity of storytelling. Through sustainable NFT initiatives, DC is redefining the 87-year-old fan culture.

DC Editor and Creative Director Jim Lee has specially selected a range of free NFT or digital collectibles for fans.

Featuring superheroes like Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, and Harley Quinn, the first drop gives fans the chance to collect three covers for each character in three rarity levels. For example, fans of the Princess of Themyscira also known as Wonder Woman can collect a Common (1987 Wonder Woman # 1 by George Perez), Rare (2021 La Nubia and the Amazons # 1 by Alitha Martinez), and / or Legendary (Yara Flor on the cover of Future State: Wonder Woman # 1 by Jenny Frison in 2021).

“We spent a lot of time translating and adapting these classic covers into a 21st century format like NFTs. This drop pays homage to our 87 year history while visualizing a future in which NFTs play a fundamental role in new ways to interact with DC content and unlock new experiences, ”said Lee.

In 2020, DC FanDome: Hall of Heroes generated 22 million massive global views in 220 countries and territories in just 24 hours. This year’s event will be the first large-scale virtual event with an NFT-fueled entry, and quite possibly one of the biggest NFT drops ever.

“It is extremely rewarding to work with a partner like DC who understands that blockchain is more than a technology, it is an enduring storytelling tool that can reshape the relationship between creators and fans. What does it mean to be a fan? What does it mean to be a collector? These are age-old questions that we can see creators like DC answering in new ways every day, ”said Palm co-founder Dan Heyman.

As a token of gratitude to their fans and an invitation to attend DC FanDome, the ultimate global fan experience, on October 16, registrants will be able to collect a free NFT by registering for this year’s global virtual event. . They will also be able to unlock a second free NFT by sharing on social networks.
