EdgeBox RPi 200: Seeed Studio Introduces a Rugged Industrial Edge Controller for the Raspberry Pi 4 Compute Module



Seeed Studio is now selling a new Industrial Edge controller for the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 (CM4). For reference, the EdgeBox RPi 200 can also be used as a CM4 carrier board, with Seeed Studio providing the following ports with the device’s 124 x 76 x 35mm.

  • 1xHDMI 2.0
  • 2x Isolated DIs
  • 2x Isolated DO
  • 1x RS485 isolated
  • 1 x M.2 2242 socket
  • 1x mini-PCIe socket with SIM card support
  • 1 × RJ45 (Gigabit)
  • 1x RS232
  • 2x USB 2.0 Type-A

Additionally, Seeed Studio offers the EdgeBox RPi 200 in four variants, starting with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of eMMC flash storage at $229. Unfortunately, this variant is out of stock at the time of writing. Alternatively, the company is selling the device with 2GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, and Wi-Fi connectivity for US$239. Additionally, there are 4GB RAM variants with 16GB and 32GB of storage for US$269 and US$279, respectively. For some reason, this latest configuration is also out of stock.

Please note that Seeed Studio ships all EdgeBox RPi 200 units from a Chinese warehouse. Therefore, expect to receive customs fees when ordering EdgeBox RPi 200 from outside of China. By the way, Seeed Studio offers wholesale prices for more than 10 units, as well as accessories like a USB-RS232 converter and the reTerminal CM4104032.
