Exile Content supported by a candle promotes a new studio director

Los Angeles-based Spanish-language prodco Exile Content Studio, which was recently acquired by Blackstone-backed Candle Media, has promoted Nando Vila to head the studio.

In his new role, Vila, who was previously head of audio and unscripted television at Exile, will oversee Exile’s film and television content strategy, succeeding Daniel Eilemberg, who was recently named CEO of the franchise. Lil’ Heroes NFT.

Prior to joining Exile, Vila served as Vice President of Programming at Fusion TV, where he produced, created and hosted the political sketch show, Happy ending; created and hosted, Midterm Chaos: The Ultimate Political Assault, alongside Kal Penn; and was the creator and host of football gods. Vila was also the executive producer of the documentary, The Naked Truth: Trumpland.

Before that, Vila hosted the Gimlet Media podcast, We came to winan anthology series on beloved World Cup stories.

Vila’s promotion follows Exile’s hiring of Daniel Batista, former president and COO of publishing and production company Bese de Zoe Saldaña, as chief digital officer last month.

Founded in 2019 by Isaac Lee, former CCO of Univision and Televisa, Exile produces feature films, scripted and unscripted television, music and audio content for global Spanish-speaking audiences, with recent projects including Netflix series Todo Va A Estar BienHBO docuseries Un Sueno Real and true crime podcast sacred scandal, in partnership with iHeartMedia.

Exile also recently announced a development deal with Academy Award-winning Benicio del Toro, acquired Dixo, a Spanish-language podcast network and production company, and launched two new divisions – Exile Music, backed by the world-renowned Colombian artist Fonseca, and Exile Kids. , focused on animation in Spanish and family entertainment.
