Genshin Impact is getting an anime adaptation from Demon Slayer Studio

Given how popular Genshin Impact is, it’s only a matter of time before it gets its own anime adaptation. That moment has now come as HoYoverse reveals it has used the help of Ufotable, the animation studio behind the Demon Slayer and God Eater anime series, to help bring the popular MMORPG gacha to a new medium.

Not much is known about the upcoming anime adaptation except that it will be a long-term collaboration between Ufotable, which could mean we’ll be looking at multiple seasons if it turns out to be a TV show (it could be an OVA). It’s also unclear if it will follow the game’s storyline which will or will be a spin-off story revolving around the adventures of the two twins, Aether and Lumine, who are shown together at the end of the official trailer.

For now, you can get a glimpse of what the game will look like as an animated show in the three-minute trailer, featuring familiar locations in Teyvat including Mondstadt, Dragonspine, and the Statue of the Seven. The trailer ends with a shot of Aether and Lumine holding hands and another hovering over some ruins in Mondstadt.

As with most adaptations, the Genshin Impact anime will no doubt bring on a wave of new players that will send the game to new heights of popularity.
