Ghost VFX, the visual effects division of Streamland Media, will open a new 32,000 square foot studio in Pune, Maharashtra, India early next year to meet the growing needs of filmmakers around the world. Ghost India will offer its customers a full suite of high-end visual effects through cloud-based technology and an industry-leading talent roster that will operate as a hybrid of working from home and in the studio.

Ghost VFX President Patrick Davenport said the studio in India is “a vital part of expanding our global services. Our management team have been working in India for over a decade and we are delighted to once again be collaborating with some of the best artists in the industry. Our experience has shown what works and what doesn’t! We are building a creative environment and culture that will support teams across all of our studios, allowing us to work together seamlessly across the globe.

The new state-of-the-art studio will be led by Vice President of Ghost VFX India and Head of Studio Prashant Shitole, who brings over 20 years of high-level visual effects and animation experience to his new role. His credits include producing VFX for feature films, streaming, animation and games, while working as a production manager at MPC, The Mill, Double Negative and more recently at Method Studios.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to lead Ghost VFX’s expansion into India,” said Shitole. “I am very pleased with the creative team we are bringing together here. Ghost VFX is already a well-established creative resource for filmmakers around the world. The talented team here in India joins a global studio of artists and technical experts who help filmmakers do amazing work.

In addition to Pune, Ghost VFX has locations around the world in Los Angeles, Copenhagen, London, Manchester, Toronto, and Vancouver. Recent credits include Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, The Book of Boba Fett and The Walking Dead.
