Commenting on Bertone’s appointment, Joseph Staten, Creative Lead for Halo Infinite, said he was “thrilled to have Paul helping lead the future” of the series’ latest entry.
After leaving Bungie, Bertone worked for three years as a design lead at Industrial Toys, the mobile game studio run by Bungie co-founder Alex Seropian, now owned by Electronic Arts.
He then spent six months as a design lead at the State of Decay Undead Labs studio, and more recently spent over two years in the same role at Highwire Games, the studio behind the PlayStation VR title Golem and the next Six days in Fallujah.
Confirming Bertone’s nomination, Staten said, “Paul and I met in 1999 when we were at Bungie in Chicago and then shipped Halo 1-3, ODST, and Reach together. I’m thrilled to have Paul helping lead the future of Halo Infinite.
343 Industries will test fly Halo Infinite’s delayed campaign co-op mode and its new Mission Replay feature starting next week.
