IPL 2019: a one-of-a-kind studio setup inside the car for IPL match analysis

IPL 2021 Disney Star Sports targets 3200 Crore in IPL advertising

The 2019 Indian Premier League (IPL), broadcast on the Star sports network, has been a season of innovation. From Dugout 2.0 and regionalization to personalized branding solutions for advertisers, this season is bigger and better than ever for fans and brands advertising on the network.

With a one-of-a-kind branded solution provided to Maruti Suzuki, as part of the Maruti Suzuki Cricket LIVE show, Star Sports created the “Star Sports CommCar”. The Commentator’s Car, housed in a Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, is innovative storytelling on the go. The car travels with Star Sports experts talking about the upcoming game from the car en route to the Star Sports studio or stadium. The CommCar operates on the roads of Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi and Bangalore. With this innovation, commentary and analysis is not limited to studio broadcasts, it now takes place on the go where experts are captured on state-of-the-art cameras installed in the car.

Taking the game out of the studio and onto the streets, the “CommCar” has some of the best minds in the game such as Kumar Sangakkara, Dean Jones, Scott Styris, VVS Laxman, Kevin Pieterson, Gautam Gambhir and Graeme Smith are a part of it.

From April 16, fans wishing to participate in the “Star Sports CommCar” contest should tune into Radio City 91.1 FM and call 66969191 and answer 5 simple cricket questions asked on “Taka Tak Mumbai” and ‘Aadi Manav in Delhi’ to win a Cricket Legend miniature racket every day. Two lucky winners selected will have the opportunity to join one of the Star Sports experts during a “CommCar” trip.
