The campus offers approximately 200,000 square feet of studio space, including five sound stages, production offices, workshops, green screen outdoor space, and parking. It is currently home to the sixth season of the hit television series Outlander.

“Wardpark has been a powerful catalyst for growth in the country’s creative sector, and Scotland has become a major filming destination for international content creators, in part thanks to its lush landscapes and competitive tax credits, as well as its pool of top talent. “

Jason Hariton, Director of Real Estate at MBS Group, added: “Despite the pandemic, a record £ 5.9bn has been spent in the UK on premium film and television productions this year – nearly doubling in the last five years – and the Scottish government is working hard to capitalize on the growth of the sector, by stepping up foreign investment with the aim of adding 30,000 new jobs in the creative industries over the next five years.

“We are proud to now play a key role in this mission. “

Wardpark CEO Terry Thomson believes the change in ownership can help the studio be more competitive in the global market and now intends to increase investment in the local display business as well.

Screen Scotland Executive Director Isabel Davis said: “Wardpark Studios has been leading the production boom in Scotland for many years now and remains at the forefront.

“His success is synonymous with local talent at every level, from the visionary entrepreneurship of Terry Thomson to the world-class design of the studio itself, and the hundreds of highly skilled people who have worked on Outlander for six seasons.

“It has been, from the start, a phenomenal training ground for dozens of new entrants to the high growth and high growth Scottish screen sector.

“It’s great to see that Terry’s success story has caught the attention of a global player and we look forward to working with Hackman Capital Partners, The MBS Group and the Wardpark team.”
