A new PC and Mac game will challenge you to run your own movie production company – more on Moviehouse here.
If football fans have the soccer manager game series, what do moviegoers have? Where is the equivalent for those of us who want to sit in front of a computer screen and try to make a successful movie studio?
There have been a few who have tried – with varying degrees of success – over the years. But the most successful was Moviesreleased in 2005.
Now, however, a new claimant to that particular throne is stepping up, with the upcoming release of Movie theater. Open to be inspired by Movies, this one takes you behind the scenes of a Hollywood production company in the 1980s. From then on, you have to hire talent, develop scripts, shoot movies and successfully release them. All while keeping fans and critics vaguely on your side. Good luck with that once the game is set in the 2010s and the rise of Twitter.
The game is developed by Odyssey Studios and is expected to be published by Assemble Entertainment. It’s designed for Windows and Mac platforms, and the plan is to release it in the fall.
More information until then can be found on the game’s official website here. And we leave you for the minute with its trailer…
