Pinewood Studios changes Screen Hub UK planning app to increase studio floor space and build backlot

Pinewood Studios has amended its planning application for Screen Hub UK, a 77-acre site on the grounds of Pinewood in Buckinghamshire which will include film production facilities, a training and skills centre, a business growth centre, a campus green and a film-inspired international tourist attraction.

According to Pinewood, they are preparing to modify the planning request to provide more studio space and make construction of the tourist attraction optional rather than guaranteed. Plans for the training and business center, which is called Center Stage, will remain the same.

“We have listened to feedback regarding the development of Pinewood Studios and the need for additional studio space,” Pinewood Studios President Paul Golding said. “We are looking at how our plans can evolve to deliver this with better benefits for the community and our customers. We will be inviting the local community to share their views with us on emerging ideas and how the full benefits of the Screen Hub UK licensed program can be retained to continue to strengthen UK filmmaking and provide jobs, skills and essential expenses as well as local resources. ecological benefits. We hope that our planning applications will receive widespread support.

British Film Commission Director General Adrian Wootton added: “The UK film industry is booming, generating billions of pounds for the UK economy and creating hundreds of thousands of jobs. The demand for content has never been greater, which in turn drives the need for additional studio space. I am delighted to welcome today’s announcement. Expansions like this further strengthen the UK’s offering as a destination for high-end, world-class film and television production.
