A 21-year-old singer is opening a performing arts studio in Great Yarmouth due to the rapid growth of her musical theater company.

Last year, Gabriella Harvey-Mobbs set up Broadway Bella’s, which taught performing arts in rented venues in the borough of Great Yarmouth.

Due to her growing success, Miss Harvey-Mobbs, of Caister, now has a dedicated base for her company which has around 100 members aged 2-60.

The performing arts studio in Swanton’s Road is due to open next month after a redevelopment and is based in former car spray business premises.

Miss Harvey-Mobbs began performing aged six, served as a backing vocalist at Yarmouth Minster and has Associate Status in Musical Theater with the London College of Music.

She said: “Broadway Bella’s started in 2021 and has grown rapidly. The need for its own studio became apparent when our classes began to reach capacity in our rented rooms.

I am thrilled to open a new studio in the borough to house Broadway Bella’s.

“We’ve been so lucky that our membership has doubled in the past few months since our show in November and the studio allows us to expand our schedule even further.

“The new studio will now be a base for the school and allow for more lessons to prepare for the exciting opportunities we have ahead in 2022, with two shows being staged in Great Yarmouth and further public performances across the county.

“The company philosophy is to encourage confidence and mental health for all ages in our region and the expansion will enable members to do just that.

“My teachers and my family have been very supportive.

“It’s because of this that we know we can offer this support to everyone who walks through our doors.

“I’ve seen that every person who walks into one of our lessons comes out a hundred times more confident, which is exactly what Broadway Bella is about.”

Great Yarmouth’s shows for this year will take place in July and November at St George’s Theatre.
