Chelmsford, Connecticut Summer Street Crossing, LLC has engaged Kriper Studio to update and improve The Shoppes at Summer Street Crossing, the mall located at 7 Summer St. near Lowell.
Work should begin immediately and be completed in August. Regular daily activities will not be disrupted so that all tenants can continue to welcome their customers.
“The importance of suburban malls in supporting independent retailers and small business owners is a priority for the localized economy,” said Hal Garnick, president of Summer Street Crossing, LLC. “Updating existing mall structures is a sign of our focus on providing the best customer experience and improving curb appeal, attracting even more customers for our valued tenants.”
With experience in retail design and updating existing buildings for commercial and residential purposes, Kriper Studio will focus on the facade of the approximately 58,000 square foot plaza. The scope of the project includes:
• A thorough cleaning of the building materials of the brick and stucco facade and the seam metal roof panels followed by a freshening of the paint on each.
• Installation of new recessed LED lights under the exterior awning to improve visibility and improve the customer experience as well as to improve energy efficiency.
• Install new planters along the boardwalk to add to the curb appeal and walkable experience of this retail destination.
“Enhancing existing retail inventory is a rewarding endeavor as we realize how much the local community depends on these destinations,” said Amir Kriper, Founding Director of Kriper Studio. “We have also long held the belief that improving existing structures is sustainable and beneficial to owners and developers.”
The Shoppes at Summer Street Crossing offer services, clothing, fitness and a range of dining options.
