Tegan and Sara Announce Fall North American Tour and 10th Studio Album – “Crybaby”


(CelebrityAccess) – Canadian Duo Tegan and Sara will release their 10th studio album, crybaby, on October 21 as part of their recently announced new deal with Mom + Pop Music. Their new single, “Yellow”, was released on Tuesday July 12 and is accompanied by a video that pays tribute to cold play‘s video for their 2000 song of the same name.

The multi-platinum group will support crybaby with a fall North American tour of smaller venues, beginning October 26 in Philadelphia and ending November 20 at the twin sisters’ current property in Vancouver. Singer-songwriter Tomberlin will open.

The new album was produced by Jean Congleton (Angel Olsen, Sharon Van Etten) Sara Quinand Tegan Quin. “It was the first time that, while we were still writing our demos, we thought about how the songs would work together,” Tegan explains. “It wasn’t even just Sara making lyrical changes or rearranging parts of my songs, it was also saying to me, ‘This song is going to be faster’ or ‘It’s going to be in a different key. .’ But Sara effectively improves everything she works on. Sara says the song “Yellow,” “was written after we started taking action to heal the bruises we’ve both carried with us since adolescence and early adulthood – wounds that have never fully healed and which flare up seasonally, spiraling us back in time. I hope not.” She adds that the video “was shot in Vancouver, a city that didn’t seem big enough to accommodate the two of us when we first got here. Twenty-two years later, we’re back, calling it home.

The sisters also announced that Amazon Freevee will be releasing High school, a new original series co-created and produced by Tegan, Sara and Clea DuVall. The series is based on the New York Times bestselling memoir of the twins of the same name. Produced by Plan B Entertainment (co-founded by brad pitt and Jennifer Aniston), High school features TikTok creators Railey and Seazynn Gilliland, portraying versions of Tegan and Sara. Special guests Cobie Smulders and Kyle Bornheimer will play the parents of the twins.

Tegan and Sara have received three Juno Awards, a Grammy nomination, a Governor General’s Performing Arts Award and the 2018 New York Civil Liberties Union Award. and Sara in 2016, which fights for health, economic justice and representation for LGBTQ girls and women.
