UPDATE: CBS made it official. The Late Late Show with James Corden will once again host a live studio audience starting tonight, Monday, September 27, according to the Deadline scoop below.

PREVIOUS EXCLUSIVE, September 21: The Late Late Show is expected to be filmed in front of a live studio audience for the first time since the pandemic began later this month.

Deadline understands that the team behind the series hosted by James Corden are planning to bring back a fully vaccinated audience starting Monday, September 27.

The number of members of the public will be reduced to 50 (it is normally 170) to allow for social distancing in the public section. In addition, all members of the public must show proof of vaccination, participate in a health exam and wear a mask to view the show, which is scheduled to feature Kim Kardashian West and musical guest Jade Bird on Monday.

The CBS show, which runs on Television City in Los Angeles, is the latest late-night talk show looking to bring back a crowd. Jimmy Kimmel Live!, which also shoots in Los Angeles, brought audiences back earlier this year, as did shows filmed in New York The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Tonight’s show with Jimmy Fallon.

The deadline revealed that The Late Late Show‘s slot rival Late night with Seth Meyers also plans to bring back an audience in October. Executive producer Rob Crabbe told Deadline last week that the show recently flipped its studio to allow it to “flip the switch” for the Audience Return.

“We’ve put ourselves in a position where we can flip the switch when it’s time to find an audience,” he said last week.

That leaves only The Daily Show with Trevor Noah hasis one of the main late-night shows with no audiences, although the Comedy Central series recently moved to a new studio in Times Square and out of Noah’s apartment, it’s also taking steps towards a sense of normalcy.
